I did not know that a public discussion group was out there for this initiative, and would like to inform you of an existing resource that could help your br>
The Information Technology Exchange is a Maine based non-profit (501C3) that since 2002 has provided low cost personal computers, training and support for low income families from Kittery to Fort Kent.
Our purpose is to increase access to technology for those who otherwise might not be able to afford/sustain access.  Our objective is to make Maine's workforce the most tech savvy in the US in hopes of attracting more tech/service sector industry to our beautiful state, as well as empower individuals with new job skills, therefore improving their makertability and earnings among the many other benefits technology access br>
Our most visible effort in this field of social change is the PCs for MAINE personal computer access and literacy project.  It has provided personal computer access to over 3800 Maine residents who otherwise might not afford it.  The entry level participation fee for these individuals is approximately $178 for a reconditioned business class computer system, support and training and a 1 year hardware warranty.
